Dear Fellow ICON members Hope you have all been enjoying the wonderful spring weather! We are delighted to share that this year's Holi celebration in Needham was a spectacular success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of our wonderful community! The festivities were kicked off with a workshop focused on exploring traditions of Holi through presentations and performances by Needham's youth and was followed by a grand celebration of colors involving colors and food. Thank you all for your support! We look forward to bringing for you more such events! 2023-2024 ICON Board Holi Workshop ICON held a hugely successful Holi workshop at the Needham Public Library on May 5, attended by over 80 adults and children. The focus of the workshop was to explore the traditions of Holi through activities, games, arts, crafts and performances. The workshop was led by ICON youth volunteers - young members of the Indian community studying in middle and high school. Below are a few photos from the event. Grand Holi Celebration We had a wonderful Holi celebration on May 19 at Greene's Field with enthusiastic participation from the entire Needham community and beyond. The event kicked off with an introduction from the ICON Board followed by a wonderful rendition of the Dhol Tasha by the Marathi Mandal group. After the Dhol, participants indulged in playing with with colors provided by ICON and enjoying the tea and snacks. Lana from BollyX had all of us dancing to Bollywood tunes! We are so grateful for all the volunteers who helped to organize this event as well as our sponsors Mass Cultural Council, Needham Council for Arts and Culture and Leena Agnihotri.
